Do people think that clams eat and lower nitrates?

there are cleaner clams that people say do lower nitrates BUT by a very very small amount per clam, and also from what I've read they are a cold water breed and don't tend to do well for a normal reef system over an extended amount of time

Also, if you're having extended issues with nitrates you may want to think about doing a coiled denitrator you can do one as a DIY or talk to Tangster I beleive he may be able to help you out with one, or just re-evaluate your feedings and bio-load

There are a ton of ways to address it but the biggest cause of nitrates is overfeeding, and we've all be guilty of it at one point or another, it's just part of the learning curve

Talk to Wildreef, as he has like 30 Long Neck Clams and says they have lowered his No3 from 50ppm to 10ppm. Luna
