clam on its side

    Yeah they are weird, I made a little acrylic box so I can move it closer/farther from the light. I had to use it recently for an anemone that wasn't doing so well. My clam hasn't reattached firmly to the rock still, so we'll see. When I looked last night, it looks like it has pulled its byssal threads into itself at the meaty part of the foot. At least they weren't torn off.

    thats definitely a good thing. hopefully its gets real comfortable where it is and becomes affixed there. you know what they say about a happy clam.

    I think I found the reason my let go of its rock. My HQI lighting had a slightly open area where the UV glass and the metal sheet meet, so some UV rich light was making its way into the tank. I noticed it last night and closed it up. This morning, I saw the clam reattached to the rock. May be coincidence, but I don't think so. :)
