Bump to above post......rocks or sand
Thanks as always!
Squamosas like to be on the sand.
I would put a maxima(rock-boarding clam) in the aquascape somewhere.
I would put it on the sand at first and then move it onto the rocks, if it doesnt like it on the rocks it will just push itself off.
I know I am a little late, but you can keep clams under PC lighting easily. You just need to plan ahead on where you are placing it. Needing halides for clams is an exaggeration now a days. T5HO will easily keep any clam you want.
Below is my crocea in my 50G. I had this clam in the tank for about 9 months then moved to my 75G when it was set up.
I am thinking of getting a Deresa
Where do they go? Sand or Rock?
Sand, I do believe. Croceas like the rock, just like maximas.
OK I am going to get the clam tomorrow
I will post picutres for SURE!
did you ever take pictures of the new zoas
You caught me! I am actually charging my camera now
I was about to take them, but the camera went dead on me
I am charging it now then I will have pictures in no time!
I don't mean to start anything here but this is simply not true.
Place any clam under good lighting and it will open like crazy- esp. a deressa- this is how they feed as adults, and the main reason they can, do, and will open like this if they are healthy- clams that stay relitivley closed have a problem with their enviroment. Clams have mantels and gills for one reason- to catch light as food, this light feeds the clam via photosynthsis, they also have gills to use for both breathing and catching food.
Separate names with a comma.
