Isn't that like a 65g? How deep is the tank?

    The boy didn't specify! :p

Personally, I would say go for it. Start with a low-light clam like a squamosa or derasea.

    Deraseas will grow fast though.

...I see now the tank is approx. 34g. I was just off by a bit. ::)

Not quite....LOL...34 gallons. The tank really is not that deep at all (it is a cube...if that helps). I am definately going for the deresa if I get one. Still want to hear from more people because thereseem to be conflicting responses.
    Thanks

i think you will be fine if you get a derasa..they dont require much light..yeah they get big, but it will take a few years to do that...ive seen them roughly grow 2" a year..

I just asked my LFS to hold the clam for me so I can make my decision. I think I am going to go for it though :)

Ive kept a derasa clam in my 40 gallon under 4 39w T5s for the past 4 or 5 months. The derasas are one of the lower light demanding clams but they also get very big over time. A guy that works at one of the stores I go to said he got a small one about 10 years ago and now its about the size of a nerf football so you would have a while before it got to big for your tank.
Just thought Id throw out a picture of mine
