so i bought a couple pieces of live rock to start cycling my tank....and there is a clam attached. about 1/2" or so. what are the chances this little guy survives the cycle?

I had a few hitch hickers like that survive my cycle, but then again some didn't. It's really hit or miss during the cycle IMO.

I think that is an oyster I could be wrong though I can't really tell in the pic. If he survives the cycle I will be surprised GL ^^

could be an oyster. its hard to get pics of the little guy. thats with my cell phone camera, which actually takes better pics inside the tank than my real camera. which i guess is sweet

anyway, he seems to be doing just fine with the ammonia, even up around 6. really well actually. i dont know how he'll handle the nitrites though
