I have 2 yellow headed sleeper gobies and they are constantly droping my crushed coral on to my new maxima. Does this matter? or is it ok.

I tried to imagine that clams generally in the ocean would get stuff in them... comments anyone?

not positive on this one since ive never had a clam... but i vaguely remember reading somewhere that it irritates them and they do not fully open then, thus not getting enough light to their Zooxanthellae. but u may want to wait for a clam owner to put in their 2cents ;)

I would be more concerned as to why the maxima is that low. They are a rock boring clam, and need to be placed on the rock work, not in the sand bed.

its also a good sign when the clam retracts its mantle if something comes too close. its alive !! lol. mine does it if a fish comes near or if i do also.

My dragon goby would blast substrate at times all over my clams... I think he enjoyed terrorizing the clams

For the main part the clams were ok. I would see a grain in their mantle. But either water flow or them retracting their mantle would blow any grains loose.

ya i tried placing it on my rock but it "kicks" its self off. When its on the substrate its seems much happier. anyways its seems to be pretty happy but i was concered.. guess maybe it doesnt matter.

Constant irritation will most likely kill the clam.
