chocolate star fish not looking good

pictures of what he looked like before he died. my dad does the set up and filtration on my tank, so I will have to ask what he does and I think I will just stick with beginner fish from now on till I can get more experience.

 

I think you're over doing it with this 55 gallon tank. Lot of die-off it seems. A dying anemone will definitely stress out and kill most inverts, and some fish.

For now, I would stop adding anything until you can pin down what's causing the deaths.

What brand and how old are the test kits? with everything that's going on, I find it hard to believe that ammonia is 0...
