    Is it Un-Healthy for a Chili COral to be out in the open? Tank is 48 long 55 gallon lighting is 6 Bulb T-5

    yea,he can go on the bottom in the substrate,preferably in a corner or somewhere that the rocks can partailly shade it.Mines in the open but the rock formation blocks the direct rays from hitting him.They also take a few day to acclimate to the tank,so you may not see him open for a few.And when there not open they almost totally deflate(mine looks like a red blob most of the time!! lol )but thats perfectly normal

    Mine looks like a cactus shape and last night it swelled pretty good sized but I didnt see any polyps. thnx

    Didn't you say you just got it?If so prob still acclimating(i've had mine for a good while,but if i remember right,it took like a week before he fully opened)
