Ok, so now I understand the browning doesn't mean one or the other. I was trying to see if browning always meant too much light then I would know if the light change was an upgrade or a downgrade

My lighting went from 6x54 T5's and changed to LED. I light acclimented for 2 weeks and I am still not up to full photo period.

I have no experience with LED lights but I would think it could be just adjusting still. It is a big jump for the corals to move up, but sounds like you are acclimating them very well! What type of LED are you using?

How high is the chalice in the tank? When i upgraded from PC to MH a few months ago, i pretty much lowered ALL my corals to the bottom of the tank for about a week.

They are 1/3 from the sand. 2/3's from the top of the tank.

It can go either way. Light that is too yellow can cause corals to brown out just as much as not having enough light. Your acclimation could be the cause also. Once your acclimation is complete you will need to give the corals a few more weeks to color back up.
