My 4 bulb Nova Extreme fixture has some older Giesemann bulbs in it and I love the color spectrum, but I am finding the bulbs pretty expensive!

I can get the Catalina bulbs for almost half the price.. but I am wondering if any has used them and what their experience is with them

There is a reason for that. Like I said before in previous posts you get what you pay for in lighting. I think you've been given plenty of reasons to not buy cheap stuff when it comes to lighting. Buy what you want but get what you pay for. Catalina can't begin to compare to geisman

Thanks. That's why I'm asking. I know I like the giesmann bulbs but never have seen others.

Is it safe to say if Marine Depot sells it the quality is high?

No. You really want the quality bulbs. There is too big a difference between bulbs to skimp.

The manufacturer makes the bulb not the seller so an ATI bulb from marine depot or my LFS is still an ATI bulb. Buy quality or you'll regret it.

I've not noted the price difference but if you save a little money on ATI vs. geissmann, I'd say ATI is of great quality

Does anyone happen to have both Giesemann Aquablue+ and Lagoon blue to describe the difference to me. I have the Aquablue+ and ordered Lagoon for my new bulbs. From the images I have seen online the Lagoon seems a bit more of a cyan color..?
