    Where are getting a $20 price for PVC pipe? Lowes charges like $3 for a 10 foot piece.

    amazon? I think i looked there and a pvc pipe was 15 bucks.
    But would the card/poster board thing work?

    It might, I would just worried about it getting wet and the sand sticking to it is all.

    i just got 2 40 lb bags for my new 90. have yet to put em in. i think I'm gonna let the bag drop to the bottom then cut it, or the cup idea is good. the pvc idea would seem like more work than its worth IMO trying to get the sand down the pvc pipe would take bout an hour versus 5 minutes of dropping the bags in..

    I would never submerge cardboard or any other paper product into my tank- once saturated, it will most likely start falling apart. Not to mention you will probably be releasing the processing chemicals into your water.
