    Btw, what is the alk of the salt mix that you're using? It may help to switch to a higher mix if you are relying on wc's to maintain parameters.

    alright I'll get to dosing.. Im not sure what the levels are I use instant ocean but I don't rely on water changes so I don't want to switch since I have a huge 5 gal bucket full of it haha I'll just does more soda water and watch them closely

    Then you should mix your new salt water for 24 hrs minimum, and raise that water to the desired alkalinity before doing the water change. I aim for 9-10 in the DT, and for the water changes. You should be testing the salinity and alk levels on your change water anyway.

    Also, it's recommended not to raise the alk more than 1 point dKh, or 18 ppm per day. Personally, I shoot for half of that. Good luck!

    Alright sounds like a plan to me!! thanks for the help I'll keep you updated on the candy cane.. hopefully they will start looking better.
