Can this be turned into a refugium?

    anything can be turned into a refugium, if it fits under your stand. 20% of the main tank is the recommended volume. the flow will depend on what is in the fuge. cheato needs more flow than others.

    Yes thats the perfect place for the fuge.. Cheado is O.K But like when the Caulerpa where going asexual people did not understand the plants needs Cheado does not need the extreme water flows many like to think.

    Looks like it'll work to me luna. And yes you can see the lines very well. The way you've got it drawn looks as simple as it can be in you scenario.

    I'd like your advice on my DIY sump/fuge plan. Do you think 30 gals is too much for a 72g.

    Is this overkill on my part?

    knock youe self out ' not like its going to hurt .
    You will have more volume of water and if sand is put in ' it will most likely produce those nice little animals that always seem to be in short supply in most reefs , and some mangroves are a plus with a small compact lighting' that would be nice.
