a very good tankmate with cichlids are silver dollars
Find a small local fish store they are more likely to take him than most big box stores.
Put him on craigslist, they really are great fish if you can get past the nasty disposition.
Depending on size the Managuense will eat the goldfish.
Found a buyer for the Jag cichlid, so now I will have a 55g with a 7"pleco, will it be ok to move my two 2" koi with the pleco?
Thanx in advance
No they have differing temperature requirements. The pleco is tropical and the koi are temperate.
Some say its ok, sone say not, now i'm really not sure anymore, my 10g tank is overstocked, 2 koi and 5 goldies, i want to move koi to bigger tank for that reason. I'm worried now
Sell the pleco, and then let the temp drop in the bigger tank and put the koi in. You need a bigger tank for the goldies too.
I figured that much, i wanted the pleco for algea control. Unless i can switch to tropical fish for my tank and rid of koi.
Yeah, it is one or the other unfortunately.
The long guy to the right is an ornate bichir (sp?) the top guy is def a pleco. I just saw a guy bring an ornate like that into gerbers today.
