how old is your tank? Not sure on that one though! I imagine keeping your params in check will be a nightmare!

Honestly, I'm not a very intelligent person, and my clam has stayed alive for about 6 months. In fact, I have a couple of young cousins who have learned that they can shine a light on the clam to make it react. Now they come over almost every day and harass the clam... but it's still doing great.

I don't know. I'm a strong believer in nature and evolution. Just make sure your water parameters are what they should be and leave the tank alone. That's your best shot.

It can be done with the correct lighting and conditions. The problem you may run in to is that clams will consume chemicals from that volume very quickly. Stability is key with clams, so dosing several time a day might be necessary to keep parameters from swinging.
