Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything, but he's correct.

You won't reach 1600. You might get into that 1000-1200 range, but 1600 isn't going to happen. Sorry guy.

And yes, with a 42r, it's a strip car only; not streetable.

I don't have an import but I like my car. 07 Mustang.

My dream car though... it's the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R.

I love diesel power as the everyday performance is unmatched. Massive torqu
I would love to get a BMW 335D

That being said, my next planned car purchase is a 2003 Audi RS6. I love sleeper cars that can reproduce results on the strip time and time again.

R34s which were actually legally imported here are few and far between, and even then the "legal" ones are in a gray area. In CA they began hunting them down and crushing them a few years ago.

Biggest issue I believe had something to do with the VIN system on them being strange so the DMV doesn't like them.

Well aside from the fact that they totally fail the government crash test safety ratings for head on collisions which is why they weren't for sale here but were in Japan. I also heard to convert them over so they would pass would involve removing some performance parts to make room for the supports.

I used to say if I had that car and I hit something fast enough to make that an issue I would rather be totaled with it... so I wouldn't care if the engine came to visit me in the cab at that point. LOL

I could be totally off though but that is what I heard.

    Eh, kinda sorta.

Way too much history here to get into, but this is a pretty nice summary of the history if you're interested: 'MotoRex and the North American Skyline Fiasco" - the Skyline GT-R wiki

They were never intended to be sold here, as it was produced to compete with Porsche in Japan. Therefore, they were not made to comply with US specs. A car cannot be registered in the US if it does not meet specs (including crash ratings). And technically, only R33's were ever actually crash tested on American soil.

Thanks for that. I've always wondered why they weren't sold here. I guess just not enough to go figure it out... LOL. They kick some serious buttocks in GranTurismo though... ;D
