Calcium Through the Roof!

    But I am not dosing the tank with anything except az-no3 for nitrate control and instant ocean which has the ca booster in it for water changes.

    That's what puzzles me as to why it's so high!

    When you say instant ocean with ca booster do you mean a salt mix or some other product?

    And lemme guess you're measuring your salinity with a hydrometer. 1/2 cup per gallon will be 1.025 all day long.

    Have you tested for Alk? By raising your Alk levels, that will lower your Cal level also. Luna

    It is OCEANIC'S natural sea salt mix
    it says on label: "contains calcium and natural trace elements"

    Makes 90 gallons

    it has calcium booster which you don't need cause you don't have anything yet using the calcium. get regular instant ocean and save what you have for when you do have corals or a need for the extra calcium

    oceanic is what I use and it IS higher in calcium stop using it and use instant ocean or some other brand, until, like I said, you have the need. don't get anything that says reef salt, it's got the extra stuff reefs need.
