I'm so confused. Green button polyps are palythoas. What makes these more special than your run of the mill green button polyps? Are they a brighter green than "regular" button polyps?

Good point. Some might scoff at "palys are palys" but these are definitely palythoas--and button polyps are palys. They might not be the exact color of a certain "named" palythoa on the hot market as of late, but they're still palys. The slight changes in form or shape are more attributable to the individual paly's surroundings than any label that might state otherwise. If I bought the polyps in the linked picture that cementskiis posted, chances are, in 3 months, they're going to drastically change with regards to physical dimensions, the degree to which it's concave, the length of the skirt, etc.

A rose of a different name is still. .. well. . you get the picture. :)

How about this . . . if you were to walk into your favorite LFS, what would you expect the price tag to be on a nice 6-8 poyp cluster (a little smaller than your fist) of whatever these are to be??

I really like these polyps . . . whatever they are, just trying to get a bearing on value for a deal I have in the works.

    I wouldn't pay more than $20 for 6-8 polyps.

Just got these home and it looks more like 18-20 polyps. The largest is almost 1.5" across and shadows 5-6 smaller ones. These are easily the biggest polyps I have ever seen in person.

They were part of a trade I worked out so I didn't pay hardly anything for them, I was just trying to assess their value compared to what I was offering.
