My captive bred blue tang I have had for about a month had a little problem with ich, so for the past week I have been using garlic to soak its food. I look at it today and I see a bunch of bumps but not white spots. Is this something new or just irritation from where the ich was?

Bumps can be a multitude of things.

Typically Tangs can be caught at a very young age and captive raised. There was some speculation as to the successful breeding of Tangs a couple years back. I sure hope they are captive breeding them but I have my doubts and can not find anything definitive but I will look around more.

Ive heard of captive raised before in tangs, Not so much bred. Not saying that its not possible. Since captive bred large angelfish in a few species are hitting the markets now.

As for the bumps, I have seen it in a few cases where later on within the day or next it shows up as more ich or the start of an infection from irritation.
