    I'd like to stay away from crabs personally,

    I ended up having a pretty good idea of using my siphon tube for water changes to just suck it out and the surrounding water just in case it pops. :)

    Emerald crabs are harmless I have 5 in my tank without any issues. They will most likely re appear even if you suck them out.
