Bubble Algae, how to get rid of it

    Get a Turkey baster and blow off the rocks at least twice a week. It may make the problem worse at first but as you keep doing this, the rocks become cleaner and cleaner, thus less food for the algae. You will be amazed at how much crap comes off those rocks.

    i just bought a turkey baster today, i guess it's pefect timing, i can't wait to use it :D

    It will make a hell of a snow storm, but dont worry, your fish will be fine, and it will clear up pretty fast.

    Oh and one other thing--I rotated filter bags every Wed and Sun. The Bubble Algae was there one day, gone the next...I dont know who or what got it. Emerald Crabs were long gone by then.

    TDS-3 Handheld TDS Meter HM Digital - English

    A TDS meter (total dissolved solids) is used to measure the purity of your ro/di water. You should really get one. I'm thinking the RO water you're getting from the LFS isn't as pure as you think.

    i'll look into getting one. I think there water has to be good, because all of their Display tanks are spotless, beautiful. and thriving like crazy. They just feed twice a week and i feed every other.

    You dont have to have bags....I meant your pre-filter...pads foam etc.
