    Final Bryopsis Questions

Sorry for posting another thread but I would like any suggestions or comments before I do this water change tonight. 2 questions. First does anyone think that adding a powerhead near the bryopsis would help in making it die any faster. Water turnover is about 21 times. Second question is I am going to do a water change tonight. I could manually pull the bryopsis off the rock and then try to at the same time put the siphon at that exact spot hoping to suck in the bryopsis and any algae spores from the bryopsis. What do you guys think? I dont want to miss any or else it spreads and makes the problem worse.
    Thanks,
    Adam

I don't think water turnover is going to make a difference one way or another. And, algae don't have spores. What you see is a mass of single-celled organisms. if just one breaks off (and be assured that more than one already has!), then it has the capability of making another algae mass. The algae has found a source of nitrates and is happy. You'll have to make it unhappy.

I did the scrape and syphon with GHA, and it didn't erradicate it completely but it did help.

Man you can pull it off the rocks until you're blue in the face. If you don't get all of the spores out it will come back....

Look for a product called Ultra Algae X its hard to find as its imported from Germany and just hitting the markets here , in the last month or so , I have been trying it for a week now yesterday. Not totally sold yet ? But see algae fading and or turning a yellow green looking . The prescribed treatment is 1 ml for every 25 Gals of as close as possible guesstimate of total water volume of the system . Follow instructions very closely It seems to be working for us. No elements no Carbon no Ozone and or U/V no nothing but every other day you add this and a good skimmer . My skimmer has been pulling out a full P/M holding tank for the skimmer so green it looks like pureed grass I can only guess/assume its the algae loosing its chlorophyll's ? But this is the first thing I have seen or used to make my skimmer to just pull out thick Green liquid . My Fuge is cut off . The valve was not 100% shut off the first treatment and the next day all the algae nect to where the feed line to fuge is was all white and dead. So I know it kills Some algaes :) I just hope it kills the Bryopsis aswell .
Its pricey but if you want to give it a shot have at it .. Read and follo label

No, I'm absolutely 100% certain that's the species.

Just pulled a bunch from in between some zoas and out of the sand.
