I just saw a bristle worm in my tank and I understand that some are not reef friendly. I need to know if I should kill this before it dives back into my live rock for another few days! :O

they eat detritus and left over fish poop, how is that harmful?

once they get big (like yours is almost at that point) where they might get a bigger appetite (from what I've heard)

I've never had any issues with mine, although i do see something has been eating away my coralline algae, I'm assuming it's asternia star fish doing this though. I haven't had any issues with my bristle worms. Let me find you a link on a DIY way to remove these guys easily

Bristle worms are not harmful; they are actually beneficial.

And even if you wanted to remove them, it'd be nearly impossible to keep your tank free of them.

The trap shown above is for a Polyclad worm; something entirely different.

+1. Common bristleworms are a great part of the cleanup crew. They are a good thing. There are other worms, some related (but very rare) that are an issue.
