How many days has it been since it ate? When you say, "young", how big is it? If it looks straight forward at you, how thick is it's body above it's eyes before it's dorsal fin? Has it had stringy poop?

I'm assuming you've tested the normals things (pH, temperature, salinity). What are those readings?

im certainly hoping thats the quarantine tank right? because even for that size of an angel it should be in nothing less than a 75 gallon tank, temporarily! when it reaches above that size to about 5 inches plus youll want to get at least a 120 gallon.

The first thing my blueface angel ate was nori off a clip. After that he started eating all the frozen food I would throw in the tank. Also if you have a live rock you could turn over that had sponges on it that might help. I did this for him as well and he would pick at the sponges on the rock.

Also with the nori, he can come out when he wants since my was VERY shy the first couple of weeks. If I was in the room at all he wouldn't eat. I had to hide about 15 feet away to finally see him eat.

if the tank has only been up a few weeks, was it cycled? What are your water params? I would def be concerned the tank wasn't ready for fish if only up for that short of a time.

assuming that everything is okay with the water parameters, i would do a couple of treatments of prazipro(treat flukes). angelfish are notorious for flukes...

does the eyes look cloudy? perhaps try a FW dip and check for flukes.
