Well, that's kind of a loaded question. There are many variables and some exceptions. We will need to know more about your system i.e. tank size etc......

Hey sorry guys, this was actually me posting from my dads username. Anyways, if it goes in my tank it will be housed with a yellow tang but if they are going to fight I will put it in the family tank...
So will they have a competiton or will they get along in my tank?

The family tank is 75 and mine is 55 I know the 55 would be very full with the two tanga but you don't get a chance to get a black tang for 29.99 every day...!

Wow, I would nab that black tang in a second for $30 if only for the re-sale / trade value. What kind of stocking levels are both tanks at, and how are the parameters?

I wouldn't try the two in the 55 together, but I would move the yellow either into your family tank or take it in for trade. Black tangs are way to expensive to pass on that.

Yellow tangs are little babies. I haven't had a black but I bet it will punk out the yellow and before long the yellow will be following it around like a little brother.
