Happy Bday! I would also look into those Nuvo tanks if I were you, they really are a great deal and are amazing sump less tanks.

I love the marineland cubes, I have the 93 in my "other home" in fort mcmurray, I really do like your idea Vinny, my local "big ALS" have offered that tank, a mini razor light, and 2 powerheads for 500$, I am almost there! I have $200 worth of points too, so 350 to walk out the door, I could do a filter too.
Is it necessary to run a skimmer ? Or frequent water changes would be ok ? This is going to be a reef tank with a couple of little fish only. (When they get bigger they can move into the 93 or my big system here in Edmonton.

oh Ken you best be looking at the nuvo... just look at some of the threads here on them.. if you don't at least give it a look you be doing yourself an injustice.

    Chris, I will look, I promise :)
I love the clean lines and seemingly super clever filtration options.

I looked at the Nuvo tanks. They are quite impressive but weren't worth the price they were asking IMO.I fell in love with there strip light though and bit the bullet so to speak.

No skimmer is needed.Air exchange is good with an hob and/or decent ph's.WC'S IME is still the simplest form of nutrient control and less dosing is good.;)Less chance of messing up.

The strip light is very nice, will it grow all the corals and a clam Vinny ?
