    When ammonia and nitrite become undetectable the cycle is complete(or started so to speak).:)
    Steve Wright started up a tank running bp's from day 1 and his results were very encouraging.Can't find it as its a pretty old thread. He even added rocks with nuisance algaes to the tank.

    So wth running biopellets. If i were to buy say the nextreef srm1. To control the output could i place a gate valve on the output of the reactor and turn it way down. Something tells me that's be a bad idea as it would just cause pressure within te reactor to increase until disaster.

    Don't think you could do that. It would cause a backpressure on the reactor and effect the tumbling of the pellets. You would have to modify it somehow to be a recirculating reactor.
