I'm debating whether to get a BC 14 or 29, I keep going back and forth. My only concern is stability in the BC 14 (especially with how bipolar the Reno weather is), but I only need a tank that will satisfy until I upgrade in about a year and a half. Thoughts?

Go for the 29...there isn't much that can fit in a 14.

+1 The 14 would really limit you; always go as big as you can!

The 29 will give you much more options as far as fish, and will be more stable.

I was going to get the 14 and when my husband went to get it he said "why bother" just get the 29 for a few dollars more. Now I wish I asked for a 75-125!

Thanks guys. I hate going back and forth so much, on one hand I dont want to spend more money on a tank that Ill only have for 2 years max. But the 29 is a nice tank and I'm pretty sure I'm going to settle with that. I figure when I get ready to upgrade, maybe one of my kids can use it to establish their own tank.

You should be able to recoop a bunch of the money if you sell it after those 2 years. You can also buy used- I got mine for $300 off Craigslist from a guy who had it set up for 3 months- looks brand new and came with everything I needed.

Oh I'm quite sure to check Craigslist, seen some pretty good deals (and some pretty bad ones too). And although I keep checking, Im not holdind my breath for a good BC deal.

You can definitely still use the 29 after the upgrade if you want. They can make cool little species only tanks. Go for the 29.
