What is the suggested way to add a clean up crew? I've never bought a full crew at once and have not ever purchased copepods (sp) before. Do I strain them and then add? I know I don't want to put the water they're shipped in in the tank. Advice and suggestions welcome!

i think you should acclimate them like any other addition to the tank. Let them get up to temp in the shipping bag floating in the tank. Then add the crew to a container and drip acclimate them to your tank water for an hour or so. I would also check out the salinity of the water they came in. If its way off they may need some more time acclimating.

If you get them from Reefcleaners (you should get an email with instructions anyways), but you just bring the bags up to temp (without opening the bags) and then release into the tank. Only one kind was actually shipped in water (Nassarrius I believe), the rest just had a moist paper towel. So those you could pick out of the water and throw in. Pods you just bring the temp up by floating the bag and dump in.

I am assuming he is purchasing online, and if so, you do not want to drip acclimate. See my post above.
