Place drain line in the hole where the laundry washer drain line is.

Always follow building and health codes when installing a RO or RO/DI. You should not just stick the waste or brine line down a drain, that is a cross connection, violates code and can lead to health problems. Provide an air gap on the waste by leaving it above the drain and let it drip down into the drain so there is no way sewage can get back into the system.

Well I didn't say stick all 10 feet down the drain :p

The water trap should be a good ways below the top of the drain.

You can put an RO/DI anywhere, even in your apartment.

If you're mixing your SW- you DON'T need to 'dechlorinate' it- it gets buffered out with the Salt mix- I started using Tap to mix, never dechlorianted- no problems.
However, I now drink my RO, ice maker, etc., and have the RO/DI keeping my DIT ATO filled, etc.

Use your own RO/DI- pays for itself.

You don't stick it in the drain at all, you leave an air gap and let it drip into the drain. Some new washing machine wall drains have a provision for this so you do not risk a backflow or cross connection.
