You should not be running biopellets without a skimmer.
Im not running biopellets, thats purigen in a reactor outside, and inside its phosguard with matrix carbon
Why are you tumbling it in a reactor? Is there any mechanical filtration keeping the small particles from escaping the reactor?
Well iv beed using them in my planted tanks in a reactor for years, and it works much better that way. As u can see in the video, iv tied a media bag on the outlet, this prevents them from getting out.
I keep my sg at 1.026 and always use a refractometer. I use to use the plastic hydrometer but it wasn't reliable...so much easier using the refractometer.
If your tank is still cycling and there is no livestock in the tank increasing salinity is easy but if you have fish, I would increase it slowly.
Why are you running purigen during cycling?
Maybe I'm incorrect but I was always advised to run carbon, purigen etc as needed after cycling
Tank is cycled and added purigen a day or 2 before the fishes and phosguard with matrix carbon after a week or 2 or adding fish.. here is my build
