    Hi,
I current have the Red Sea Reef Foundation test kit and love it. I am looking to upgrade from my old test kits to something new.

I have been looking into Red Sea Algae Control Multi NO3/PO4 Test Kit, but before I drop 50 bucks on a kit I'd like to get your feedback. Also are there any other parameters I should be checking for?

Currently test every week(Test kit used):
    Ph- Salifert
    SG - Refractometer
ALK - Salifert & Red Sea
    Ca - Red Sea
    Mag - Red Sea
    Phos - Salifert
    NO3 - API :(

    Thanks

For phosphate get the Hanna phosphate meter. It's the real deal for people who are not joking around when it comes to testing.

I contemplated getting the Hanna phosphate meter, but decided to get the Red Sea Algae control pack because it comes with the NO3 test as well for cheaper than the Hanna checker I believe. Id love to buy the Hanna meter in the future but I didnt want to drop the cash on it right now. Im happy with the Red Sea Algae control test kit though. The testing results have all been very consistent.

hannah for phosphate.. I actually use strips for nitrate. I really don't believe low end testing matters on nitrate. Either I see some color and I do a w/c or it's white and who cares.

Hanna Checker for Phosphate. It is the only one that will read levels low enough that any SPs keeper would care. I don't even see why anyone would buy an phosphate test kit over this. It is the easiest method of testing and at only $50 it is almost as cheap. Before these came out I bought the $200 Hanna meter and still though it was a bargain over a test kit.

Im content with the Hanna, it's only 50 bucks and 5/7 people I have talked to mentioned the Hanna.

So what strips or test kit should I use for Nitrate?

I want to have the best water conditions for SPS.

Nitrate I am using API for now. I would look into Seachem or Salifert if not a Hanna. I am using the Seachem phosphate kit but I think from what I have read that the Hanna is the way to go.

I use the Red Sea Algae Control and like it a lot. I also use the Reef Foundation.

I have a Hana Checker for Po4, but it's not very consistent. The full blown Hana Po4 is good, but expensive.
