    They look like PFOs, never heard of that brand though. That second link you posted with the ballast and spider reflector is a heck of a deal though! :eek: 8)

    Matt why do you think it looks like a PFO? This is a e-ballast right?

    PFO is just a popular lighting manufacturer.
    It just reminds me of one because of the metal casing.

    By the way, PFO has electronic ballasts now too.

    Did you take a look at the CoralVue stuff? It is very inexspensive, the ballasts are electronic and they have a 3 year warranty and fire DE and mogul bulbs. A complete 1-250 watt retrokit (bulb ,ballast, spider reflector) is under $200.

    The EVC ballast are Electronic Ballasts.
    They have a 8ft. lamp cord and a 6ft. power cord no other cords to buy.
    They will fire single ended and double ended bulbs.
    The PFO are Magnetic ballasts
    They both have extruded aluminum housing as some other ballasts have but that is were the similarity ends
    The EVC Ballast are about a 1/4 of the size and 1/3 the weight of the PFO ballast.

    Vince what is the warranty on the EVC ballast and do you have some test info we could view I am interested in seeing these.
