Best lighting for 220g Sps Tank

    Awesome tank by the way. I want a 60x30x24. The 5 foot has it's chalenges for lights. For what I want it would be best like it was mentioned to build a hood and do what I want. Only problem is..... I don't like hoods.

    You are pretty much stuck with 4 foot MH fixtures. ATI does make 5 foot T5 fixtures.

    I do belive that what was said about apples and oranges applies. I do think there are very good T5 setups. My decision is a ways off. Seems MH are a very good light, and I can deal with the heat, but many T5 setups seem to have the best color. Hard choice. look forward to seeing what you do, and of course your build.

    i finally found exactly what iv been looking for :)

    The geisemann spectra!!!! 48" w/ 2 400w halides and t5s

    Its kinda expensive at $2400 but it looks like its worth it.

    Im really impressed,

    check it out the 72",

    That is a killer price tag. What I have really looked for is more like 50/50 MH/T5. Most stuff is either or with MH having suplementation. Like 2x250 and 4x80w T5s would be good. Might actually be too much light. I could do that with a hood...but again...

    Very nice stuff from G-man. you tank is going to be sweet.

    Thanks, ya im surprised also, if i had a hood id go half and half.
