Need to keep it at 1600 or higher with the Kent tech.
Turbo snails will not eat bryopsis. Only sea slugs eat it.
you can add a couple of turbos but I wouldn't suggest too many - one mexican turbo can eat a ton of algae and if there's not enough there, they can perish creating more issues....I might add three given the size of your tank.
Just a word of caution from reading on here, you need to use caution with Lanthium chloride - a couple members on here had major fish losses from using it although I think one person ended up finding out he had gotten a bad batch. I'm not saying not to, just be aware.
The magnesium I've been using is seachem reef advantage. Should I change to the kent tech and maintain it at 1600 even with the lights out for 3 days?
I am afraid of crabs, Vinny, but I hate amphipods.
Things that failed:
Kent TechM. Worked in the past, but not this time.
Sea hare. Died from starvation.
Rabbitfish. Didn't eat any of the algae.
Emeralds. Picked at anything that wasn't bryopsis or bubble algae. And scared me.
Naw, not really. Tossed em in the trigger tank.
Phosguard and GFO. No real results.
Two Chaeto tanks. One runs at night one during the day. One with a Reefbreeders fuse LED. No noticeable affect on DT algae.
Turf scrubber. A viable option that has worked in the past, but takes a bit of time to get up to full speed. Decided to give LC a try.
Lanthanum chloride, (Phos Buster) $16 1.1 ml/min dosing pump $80. Algae started to die off within a few days. Dosing 4ml/gal of RODI 528ml/day.
I hate to admit this but I actually had great luck with this.
Iused it in my Nano for Bryopsis.I of course used far less then the recomended dosage BUT RESULTS WERE APPARENT ALMOST IMEEDIATELY.dIDN'T SEEM TO BOTHER FISH OR INVERTS.Sorry for the caps. Bunch of crab haters on this site.lolThey were all pinched as children.
Tried that a while back, too Vinny. Worked great initially. IIRC, lost some LPS because of it.
How's the turf scrubber running, btw?
No ATS on the cube.
I have had a problem with hair algea and I have been in the hobby for some time. My solution to this has been Prodibio Digest, continuous water changes with zero TDS RO/DI water, syphoning all detritus, pulling the hair algea out with each water change and scrubbing the rocks. In addition, having an efficient skimmer and keeping both phos and nitrates at zero. There are no quick fixes, you have to keep plugging away at it.
Hope this helps.
