    Welcome back to the hobby and 3reef

    For lighting Steve was pretty Wright on except it is with the right LED unit you can keep SPS in the sump or with 1000W MH.

    For T5HO lighting 2.5W to 3W is a good watts per gallon range for SPS, 2.0W to 2.5W per gallon for LPS. LED you cut the numbers in about half. These number assume you are using high quality fixtures and high quality bulbs withthe T5HO.
