baby hippo!

Our little Hippo Tang has ick and it just wont go away! I'm concerned because my boyfriend and I can't tend to him every day and so he eats garlic only once every two to three days. He seems to be swimming alright he's still growing I'd say and he eats like crazy when we put food in the tank. He eats flake food once daily...
all of our perameters are stable.

 

did you just recently add him to the tank? if so, could be a bit of stress and it may just clear up on its own.

 

As long as he is eating i would not worry.

Hippo Tangs are know for ich and well it happens and passes. Just let him be and all should be fine.

 

how is he doing today? mine has a little bit on him too right now, I'm just letting it ride out with feedings...maybe I will add a cleaner shrimp as I have a cleaner wrasse already...how small is your hippo?

 

i bought my hippo about a month ago. had a spot on his fin and went away on it's own. I would not really worry unless there are multiple spots covering the body.

Unfortunately, i bought a plurple tang the other day which infected my tank and have been battling an outbreak for about a week! luckily it only affected the 2 tangs.

Our little blue hippo tang is doing better than alright he's amazing! healthy as anything and just such a joy !!!

 

my cleaner goby does a great job of keeping my fish clean. so far so good.

 

Make sure you have romaine in the tank on a clip or something. This will give the little guy something to pick on if you're not there. They need greens reguardless.
