I hear ya. It has me thinking and I like my light. lol

    Direct from the source..

It does not require special bulbs and it does not significantly reduce bulb life as long as the user (1) breaks the bulbs in by running them for about 100 hours at full intensity and (2) does not do extreme turning up and turning down of the bulbs on a repeated and regular basis. Normal sunrise, daylight, cloud cover and sunset simulations are no problem.

The fixture features its own built-in controller, so it is not necessary to use it with another controller and adding an external controller would not add any additional functionality.

That's pretty neat. Maybe I would get it if there wasn't such a thing as LEDs? lol.

Yeah, that's true. I've thought about going either way. Personally, I am waiting on the next batch of Kessils to come out. But that's another topic. :) lol.

    I want something I can test. :p

Will a controller cutting off power to the fixture screw up the settings? That is what I am really wondering about. Say, the temp of your water gets to high and you have a controller set to turn your lights off by a certain temp.

    From the source..

I don’t see any problem plugging it into an APEX or other controller to turn the fixture off in the event of a heat issue or other emergency condition. You just don’t want to use the APEX or other controller to turn it off and on a daily basis.

What we need is a fixture with the color of MH, price of T5, and controlability of LED.

The prices I have found have only been in the UK. It was about 450 pounds for the 4x54w fixtuers.
