Aptasia problem Vs. CBS

    LOL, maybe I'll bring aiptasia to LFS, and have them put all their PS in a clear transport tank and see who eats it first.

    Think this would fly? ;)

    no i dont have a six line, they are known to get aggressive. dont want to chance it since my tank is small, i try and stick with peaceful fish.

    I only ask because someone on another board stated their peppermint shrimp would only eat aiptasia when they got rid of their six line. Which I thought to be weird.

    The peps were probably afraid to come out with an aggressive 6-line in there.

    i do have 3 other wrasses in my tank. i feed often to keep my anthias happy. so i wonder if the peppermints have plenty of food so they dont need to eat aptasia ?????

    Yes, they only eat Aiptasia. I have never heard of them eating coral, but some nudibranch do. They use the nematocyte (the stinging cells if I am correct) and store them on their back. That is what gives them a beautiful purple color. ;D I got mine from Welcome to ReefTown I hope this helps.

    my peppermints only come out at nite, other than that i see them moving around inside the rocks. they really arent seen much. im glad they dont add to much to the bio load or i would be annoyed with them.lol

    I read that as well. Why hunt for food if you can get it easy. kwim? Darn lazy peppermint shrimp.
