Anyone use a deep sand bed in refugium?

    I have a dsb with 2-3" of kitty litter (red Special Kitty $2.25 bag @ Walmart) and 2-3" of marcorocks.com sand. Have plenty of bubbles that formed quickly under the sandbed surface.

    Also use kitty litter and sand mine is 7 inches is that bad some one said Some thing bad about dsb can u fill me in also how long tell it works I have had water for about three months now?
