It's a majeno. Nuke it. Look what it is doing to the zoas next to it.

those zoas are just pissed that i was moving them to get a pic...they are usually all open and happy touching each other...thats why i dont think its a majeno...it doesnt really have the tentacles either..

I believe you have a baby fungia growing, very nice HH in my opinion.

Try feeding it some brine or mysis shrimp and see how it reacts, it should grab the food with tiny little tentacles and bring it into the center where the mouth is.

Send a few pic to the guys at Coral Morphologic - Live Corals. They're sponsors here at 3reef and one they know as much as anyone in the world about corallimorphs.

That is the only other thing it could be. Does it have a skeleton? if so, it probably is a baby fungia or plate coral.

I don't see a skeleton...if it is one of those anems..what are the consequences of it living?

It might be harder to see a skeleton with all of the polyps in the way. I would take that piece of rock out of the water for a few seconds. If it's an anemone, it will be very squishy and kind of "fall" over in a way. If it sticks strait out, and has a skeleton, I would put my guess on fungia.

Try to snap a pic if you do take it out, then we can get a better view.
