Anyone ever tried drilling a tempered tank?

    Like Curt said, you better be careful if you do decide to do this. Besides safety goggles, I hope you wear an entire body suit of metal armor.
    I hope you are ok, you haven't responded to this thread in quite a while.

    Tempered glass can be cut with special lasers .....I would think acid may work too though

    I don't think tempered can be cut at all. As soon as the hole is made all the tension that is there is released and it shatters in a spectacular fashion. I received a tank from a friend for free and wanted to drill it but didn't know if it was tempered or not so I went for it anyway. I made it almost all the way through the glass but as soon as it started to break through it shattered into a 1000 pieces. On the plus side tempered glass pieces are much less dangerous than nontempered glass shards.
