I am really happy with my T5's. I like the colors and so far, most things are showing some growth. I don't understand the LED technology enough or programming and such to go that route at this stage.

I switched back to T5's from LED's also. Great looking tank btw.

Soooo your 1st post really should have said, Can anyone guess which day I corrected my personal lighting mistake? :) lol

    Tank looks good!

I do agree there are alot of possibilities and it is easy to make mistakes with LED's easier then t5's and have wrong intensities etc. but they can also be extremely good if done right and dialed in correctly for your tank.... I know mine liked them over t5's big time! There is also ALOT of misinformation and people that didn't give them a good chance/ play with them enough (or set them up correctly in the 1st place for their tank) that make it harder and give them a bad rep.

That's what I'm worried about also. I just received my LEDs from reef breeders. But luckily my tank is a new setup & I don't have any finicky corals yet. So it gives me time to learn the light & what my corals need. It came setup to run 100% max, so I just dialed it back to 50 & see what happens. So far so good.

The advice I've read is to start acclimating from a cry low point. Maybe go with 20% and work up very slowly. Obviously I'm not the expert on getting LEDs to work however, so hopefully someone who is can help more.

I think your hypothesis is possibly full of variables..
