any introducing clam risk?

    do clams have risk like fish with disease or corals with hitchhikers? is there any process need for clams b4 introducing them to a display tank?

    Be careful to look for pyramidal (sp?) snails. They are tiny snail which will be on the shell/foot and can injure the clam pretty badly. You can pick them off most of the time. I don't know if a "dip" would apply in this situation.

    One other thing(no so much a disease, but more a precaution) is to wave your hand over the clam and see h0w fast it will respond. It the clam closes up fast ("fast") then it is healthy; if it is really slow, then I would pick a different clam.
