Thanks ya'll for mentioning. Actually, there are many alternatives, and superior performance DIY's. You don't have to spend anywhere near $40, to have an intank, surface skimming overflow with well over a foot of linear skimming area like a RR has. Also to make the DIY HOB part- Self priming is a mis-statement. The design I use never loooses it's prime. This is WITHOUT an aqualifter. I no longer have the aqualifter- wasn't doing anything- so I took it off and capped the port you use to start to siphon on the upper loop. My DIT overflow is 1.5 inch ID throughout- lots of flow Let me know if I can be 0f any help.
