Just noticed this on 1 of 4 zoa colonies in my tank. It's only effecting this seems to be a clear/white cacoon that surrounds an individual polyp and after 3 or 4 days the polyp is gone and it start to effect another polyp. It only gets one polyp at a time?? Not sure it this is zoa pox or some sort of fungal disease. Any suggetions and/or help would be appreciated.

Pics were taken shortly after my actinics came on. All the other polyps surrounding the affected one opens up fully and seem happy.

how long have you had that zoa? If it is fairly new then my bet is it is a zoa eating nudibranch...... Best thing is to dip all your zoas in lugols solution

just got a better view of teh picture......now I see the white stuff. Not sure what that is, sometype of fungus I guess. Best bet would still be to dip it in lugols

I've had them for about 6 weeks now. Don't think it's a nudi or spiders. It only effects 1 polyp at a time.

Here is another pic with the flash on. You can see it better here!

    Thanks for your suggestion.

The last polyp that was effected by it I was able to suck it up off the rock with a turkey baster. The next day it starting on the polyp in the pic.

Where'd these come from? If you say Pets Inc, it's a zoa eating nudi.

    Otherwise, looks fungal to me.

I don't have any lugols. I do have some Coral RX though. Should I maybe cut off the 1 polyp that is already "melting" away and do a dip with the Coral RX?

LMAO That's funny. ;D Good Call evolved. they did come from Pets Inc. Although I've had them for 6 or so weeks and it only started to effect them this week.
