Sounds like a plan. It will seed your tank with good bacteria. Don't feel that you've lost the patience battle, you'll still need to be very patient with this process :)

yes even with using those quick start products it can still take a week or to for it to be safe at times, just cause it says you can add live stock 48 hr later dosnt mean you should.
i put some of the start smart in my tank and my reading are right now almost a week later ammonia is 2.0 nitrites are 1.0 and nitrates are 20ppm. but hey im in no rush either i just had some on hand an wanted to see if it really on takes 24-48 hrs i got my answer lol :p

I'm not in that big of a hurry. Just thinking my cycle has stalled for some reason since there hasn't been any change in 6 days.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If you think it's stalled why not do a water change?

What is the ammonia level now?

The ammonia is between 0.25 and 0.50 on the test kit. Been there since Monday. Can a water change help with this ?

If the cycle is stalled because the NH3 is too high a small water change might help.

Well heck. I thought 0.50 was low since my test kit goes to 8.00. Shows what I know. Lol. No nitrites yet. Still at 0.
