I know, digging up and old thread-

My newest fish addition- a Damsel now has Pop eye in one eye.
    Evrything else is fine.
I just did a 25g WC yesterday also- just to do one- things seems prstine in my DT atm.
The Damsel did have some bubling over that eye prior to the WC.

I'm going to wait it out, be hard to catdh it anyways- not that I want to

It just went away on its own. Could the damsel have bumped its eye on a rock?

    It hasn't went away yet.

He could easily have bumped on a rock/coral as he hides in a small area between a plating monti and a rock, surrounded by Birsnest and a stylo.

    Still acting normal thank goodness.

My angel was eating fine so I let him be. A week later it cleared up. Maybe you should remove some obstacles? I can help get rid of those corals that are getting in the way;) Tank looks great todd, saw your update. Im gonna get two of those full spectrum fixtures for my 125.

    +1

My domino damsel got it in one eye a couple of months ago. Never did find the cause. Just kept up feeding and maintenance and left him alone. It finally healed in about 3 weeks.

from my understanding, experience and reading, if a fish develops pop eye on only one eye the most likely cause is mechanical injury. if however it develops on both eyes then you may have a bacterial infection in your water column.

i cured my yellow tang with malafix over a weeks time but she did lose sight from the eye i believe. best of luck!

kinda sketchy that it seems to be a recurring issue in your system though

Aha, I see now this IS your thread DSC, thanks for chiming in again and trying to help with my fish with this PopEye.

Thanks DSC. I"ve heard the pirce came back down on the lights to about $125 shipped right now for these lights- that's about what I paid, then about 2 months later they went up $100, but as I said, I heard it's back down again.
My SPS, acros and everthing else are going crazy growth now. No where near 100% on the dimmers either.

    Thanks Mr. B

Swiss? What the h are you talking about? recurring issue in my system?
My first fish ever with this? And yes, it's only in one eye, with some air bubbles around it too.
Where did you get the idea that it's a recurring issue in my system?

    Todd

Good to hear todd. I knew water quality is not an issue in your tank. Lol
