Alkalinity : What dKH do you target and why?

What dKH do you target?

    Good common sense test. I do have a sump and skimmer so I assumed I was sufficiently oxygenated.

    I'll play with it tomorrow.

    Surface area is key here. Oxygen exchange happens at the surface. I risk jumping to an open lid.

    I shoot for 12. Everything I've read says 8-12 is optimum. I shoot for the high end, so if something prevents me from dosing one day it won't drop below good levels.

    API

    I dose with a buffer solution. Now that I have an ATO I add the correct amount of buffer to the amount of water I'm adding to the ATO reservoir.

    NSW is around 8 dkh. IME when my dkh went a little below 8, my LPS were not happy.
