Alk drop?

    I thought 1100 seemed really low. when i used reef crystals it was always about 1500.

    3rd test all liquid in saringe 1.0 of it went in and its still not blue. Wth?

    It must be higher than than the kit will read? What the kit read up to?

    That's what I'm talking about right there. Maybe you didn't swirl enough after every tedious drop. RS kits are PITA :)

    That is possible. The kit reads up to 1500. Next step is to leave the vial as is, and refill the syringe back to 1.0 and keep going. Add this result to the 1500 of the first set...

    Then do it all over again bc it may be user error...

    So 4th test same as second. Off the chart over 1600 ppm.

    Says alk is 9.1. Gonna check that against my other test.
    That checked out against api test kit. 9dkh

    If it's 1600 (and you trust that reading), I would leave it to fall naturally.

    Sustaining super high Mg can irritate some corals. I used to keep mine at 1500 but have better results maintaining it at about 1400.

    So i guess my alk just drops faster then my water changes are replacing it. So i guess i will just keep adding 2 tsp of baking powder every week to keep it up.
